Food Pantries

Fresh Meals Program

Volunteer Opportunities:

August-May Mon-Fri: 8-9:30 AM or 9:30-11 AM

Volunteers assist in preparing bulk meals for Monroe County children and seniors.No prior kitchen experience is necessary. Sign-up to volunteer or email Olivia for more information.  

Callahan Community Kitchen

Nutrition Education

Volunteers assist SOS staff in teaching nutrition education at public elementary schools throughout Monroe County.  Curriculums range in length, from four to sixteen weeks, and all lessons are one hour. Ideally, volunteers could commit to either a full 4- or 16-week series. No prior nutrition or teaching experience is needed. Volunteers must pass a background check to work in the schools.
